A Unitarian Gloria

This reading is inspired by the words of the Gloria in the traditional Latin Mass, which is often set to music.

We rejoice in the glory of the universe
We live in the hope of peace on earth
For all people, even those who disagree with our views.
We praise the giver of life
The parent, the lover, the child, the friend
Those who have nurtured us, worshipped us, delighted and loved us
For who we all are.
You prophets, you mystics
You wisdom keepers and wisdom seekers
We honour you.
You bring to the world new inspiration
New ways of seeing and of living.
You are deserving of our praise.
For we are all holy people
And this place is for us, sacred ground
And this time is to be honoured
As a moment to pause within ourselves
To seek that truth we hold to be of highest worth
In the name of love,
May it be so.
