Prayer for Acting on Faith
Spirits above, without and within,
We pray.
We pray that our values and our faith don’t stay only within prayer.
We pray that the kindness, forgiveness and deeds we contemplate in silence remain not in silence.
We pray that what we preach or believe within these walls is not bound by these walls.
O, great spirits,
Give us the wisdom, the fortitude and the wherewithal to act on our values.
Give us eyes to see where our faith would be most needed.
Imbue our hands with the capacity to help.
Imbue our hearts with the capacity to love and to forgive.
Imbue our voices to speak words of kindness.
Spirits,
On this day, we make a pledge, not to merely mention our faith in passing,
But to show that faith in the works we do, and the way we live our lives
Both within this sacred space, and in the world beyond it.
Amen
