Here’s a harvest hope
That this thankful thing
For food and Earth and life;
Becomes a gratitude thing
Not for now, or for us
But for everybody and everything.
May Lammas Blessings be the wish
May Lughnasadh be truly fresh
In gratitude for what we are given
And attitude of what we can give
Of loving
Prayer for this day
Spirit of Life, Spirit of Love,
Spirit of Hope, Spirit of Justice,
God known by many different names:
You have given us a day unique from any other.
You have connected us, all of us, with each other, and with the world, in ways that are largely a mystery to us.
You have given us little
All that is
I close my eyes with gratitude
I open my ears to hear another’s voice
I let go of what I think of how things should be
I feel the wind or rain or sun if I make sure that I do
I dance I move I take heartbeat shaking actions
And beauty
I create
I
Chalice lighting
We gather as Unitarians,
old and new friends
Seeking truth love meaning
and deep connection.
We respect the integrity of our individual selves
Even as we are shown the inter-connectedness of all that is;
We light this chalice
The symbol of our open creedless faith
For holding
And being held.
Our guiding principles
May the light of this chalice be a reminder of the
shared values and principles around which we gather:
upholding the inherent worth and dignity of every person;
cherishing all those diverse creatures and habitats
with whom we share this Earth, our home;
seeking human liberation and flourishing;
serving the common good of all.

Spirit of Life and Love
God of our hearts
As we seek connection with someone, some thing beyond ourselves,
We remain humbled by the awesome complexity of the universe,
The miracle of creation and the grace of the ultimate spirit
In this time of prayer, let us give thanks for our community and our many gifts by
