Theme “Joys and Concerns”
I invite you to join in a time for prayerful reflection together.
We have two candles which will be lit from our single chalice flame.
We will use the first candle to reflect on the sorrows of a troubled world.
I’ll ask (………name member of congregation) to come forward to light this candle from the
Spirit of Life, you who animate the Universe
Help us to remember the gift that is a human life.
With our consciousness and senses, we can touch, taste, see and feel
So much that is good, and alluring, and enticing.
Spirit of Life, some of us here today may be thinking of concerns more than joys,

This is an alternative to lighting candles of joys and concerns which can be used if you light candles silently at another time in the service, or don’t use candles.
I invite you into a time of prayer and meditation.
We come together in fellowship each Sunday with hearts full of joy and full of concern.
To the quiet beauty of this place, we have come, from many places and with many thoughts.
I invite you now, if you wish, to come forward and light a peaceful candle:
Either in silence or with just a few words to share a joy or a sorrow which you have brought with you this morning.
