Chalice lighting
A regular Sunday
Here we have gathered to make another link in the chain of days that binds our lives in fellowship.
We bring our whole self to worship, with all the pleasures and the pains of our daily lives. All our hopes and dreams and fears are here with us. Our remembrance of days past and of people
God is in your nostrils
God is spirit.
God is light.
God is in your nostrils.
God is sun.
God is nature.
God is up there,
and down here.
God is gracious.
God is merciful.
God is in every breath you breathe in and breathe out.
God is fire.
God is mighty.
God is the strength in your heart,
and your help
Let our community be one of warmth
Let our community here, be like this flame.
Let us be strong. Let us be vibrant. Let us be bright.
And above all else, let our community be one of warmth.

The chalice, the flame
You are the flame of the chalice. You dare to be seen, to flicker and dance your beautiful, vulnerable, dance. You have come alive to the possibility of the world. Your warmth embraces those around you. Your light illuminates our sacred purpose.

Chalice lighting, for those who are not in the room

Spring
As we sizzle in summer, fall into fall, then wither in winter –
Now let us spring into spring!
As the joy of each bud breaks forth,
Let our hearts burst,
With the warmth and radiance of renewal.
New life, new hope.
Let us spring into spring!
Shared candle lighting
To the quiet beauty of this place, we have come, from many places and with many thoughts.
I invite you now, if you wish, to come forward and light a peaceful candle:
Either in silence or with just a few words to share a joy or a sorrow which you have brought with you this morning.
Chalice lighting
The flame consumes the wick,
Constantly changing and dancing,
Sharing its radiance with us.
So may our souls be aflame with divine love,
Sharing our radiance with others.
