Theme “Mystery”
In awe and wonder
We light our chalice in gratitude
For the grace of mystery
For all the times we have stood
In awe and wonder
At the depths of our inner lives and
The beauty of our outer lives

Meditational prayer
Let my prayer be a path of discovery towards knowledge of that which I cannot see.
Let my prayer be a question to the something which is in everything and is everywhere around me.
What is it, who is it, that touches the heart when the sun rises on the morning, or splashes the sky with
Prayer based on Walk Whitman’s ‘Leaves of Grass’
May the soul sing the song of life to the God in our hearts, in pleasant exploration.
Let us not dally with the mystery of God but simply look around us as we travel the meandering road…
See God in everything.
Let us be pleased with our souls, whether sailing on the seas or
Mysterious unfathomable Universe
Mysterious unfathomable Universe:
Inspirer of awe and wonder,
and soaring of the spirit –
There are times when the greatness of the Universe
seems cold and distant,
as a black night sky –
Times when my heart cries out
not for awe
but for embrace and consolation.
On days like
This world prays within you
This world of blissful surprise,
of ecstatic imaginings of
baby cry and lover’s sigh
and cloud roll into thunderhead
and rain falling on the tongue (and the lips and the teeth)
This world prays within you –
and turns your blood vivid blue as it oxygenates

Flawlessly enraptures
A grateful heart
These stones shower our landscape
Delivering wildness as a reward
To be held in honour
And you can take a moment
Of
The ever opening heart
Thank you great mystery
For relationship
Thank you planet
For touching the mystery with me
Thank you
You and you all of you
For waking in the mystery too
An ever opening heart
Every day a new start
Supreme Love inspire
This chasm this vision
Taller deeper wider
In this Great Mystery
May we always
Partakers of the divine
‘…whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature.’
(II Peter 1: 4)
We are products and partakers of the Divine,
whether we like it or not,
as are all things that live, all things that exist.
With our minds we explore the mystery that
